Caffe Latte is situated on the populated, busy Otley Road. It sits between the local Sainsbury’s and Greggs, metres away from a rival franchise coffee shop- so competition for Caffe Latte is fierce.
Upon entering, the first thing you notice is the lighting. The spacious shop is naturally lit. From the wide open front windows, this gives the shop a lovely welcoming feel, often not found from said franchise coffee shops. Caffe Latte was relatively busy for a midweek afternoon, so I took a seat front of house, looking out onto the hustling Otley Road. I ordered a Latte and Vegetarian Falafel wrap, which was advertised on the walk in.
The latte was enjoyable. Rich flavours fused with a signature creamy finish. The Veggie Falafel itself was tasty and flavoursome. The tomatoes, onions and lettuce added colour to the wrap, however it was dry, with no distinctive sauce. Some sort of hummus would’ve gone a long way!
The atmosphere in Caffe Latte is a homely and pleasant one, the staff are all polite and welcoming. The interior of the shop is unique, a large wall painting draws your eye upon entering the shop, which gives Caffe Latte some personality. An artistically designed arrangement of coffee bags hangs on one of the walls, which gives an interesting perspective.
Overall, Caffe Latte is an enjoyable coffee experience, in a city bustling with coffee shops. The 15% student discount gives the shop it’s unique selling point, which allows Caffe Latte opportunity to compete with the big coffee shops that adorn the Otley road.
