Head to Turtle Bay and there is really no need to go anywhere else for the evening. Start your night off with 2 – for – 1 rum based cocktails on happy hour, fill yourselves with authentic Caribbean food and then head back to the bar after for a shot or two to finish!
We started the night pretty much the same way by grabbing two rum margaritas! They were so very tasty, in fact, so tasty we couldn’t resist getting two more. After finishing the second round of cocktails we were more than ready to sit down and sample the delights on the turtle bay menu.
After long thought and consideration about what to have we finally chose a starter of jerk pit wings and duck rolls. The food arrived very quick and beautifully presented and we tucked into our food barely speaking or looking up from our plates. The delicious grilled chicken wings which are spice marinated and glazed came with sweet mango chilli sauce. The duck rolls were slow roasted and served with sweet onion, soy sauce, flatbread and also came with a moreish sour orange chutney. On the starter menu they do a deal of three for £14 or four for £18 but we chose to stick to just two.
The starters were fairly large, but we were still excited to try out our mains, Jerk pork belly and street shack burger which was a seasoned beef burger and spicy pulled pork on a bun. These were both really tasty and had lots of flavour as well as just the right amount of spice.
If you like your food spicy, colourful and full of flavour then Turtle Bay is the right place to go. The food is a good price and you will definitely get your money’s worth and obviously, the 2 – for 1 on cocktails is hard for anyone to resist. It has a great atmosphere, quick service and a delicious menu to choose from.
