While Leeds is well-known for its nightlife, shopping centres and culture, there’s truly something for everyone when it comes to the city’s cuisine. We know most gamers enjoy staying inside to play, but we’ve gone out and found the best places where you can go to grab some food and play some games.
Dry Dock
If you want to relive your childhood and play some old consoles while having some tasty food, Dry Dock is the place for you. The decor is enough to turn heads, with the whole restaurant being inside an old boat, just across from the Leeds Becket University library. Dry Dock offers you the chance to play on various retro consoles while you eat. Even if gaming isn’t your thing, Dry Dock also offers sports and quiz nights so there truly is something for everyone.
Retro Games Night
Belgrave is well-known in Leeds for their diverse themed events including movie nights and special music shows. But Belgrave is also working with ‘Retro Games Nights’ to offer gaming nights alongside two different kitchens that specialise in pizza and burgers. Retro games nights at Belgrave include over 20 gaming consoles for customers to play on, plus stalls selling gaming merchandise and gaming competitions where prizes can be won. eDen Esports Bar
If retro gaming isn’t your style and you’d like to play more up to date games, look no further. Situated in the city centre, eDen Esports bar is dedicated to gamers, with three PlayStation 4s, two Xbox Ones, a GameCube and twelve-custom built, high spec gaming PCs. As well as offering delicious food, they serve amazing cocktails, all named after different games including an ‘Estus’ from the Dark Souls franchise or ‘Tracer’ from Overwatch. The whole place is built purely for gamers to enjoy and they host regular Esports events and competitions that anyone can take part in.
