I went to supermarket giant Tesco with a mission to show how much cheaper and healthier it is to make home-cooked food and comparing it to a popular ready meal.

Spaghetti Bolognese

Instructions

Microwave from chilled at 800/900W for 4-5 minutes. Leave to stand for 1 minute after heating, stir well before serving.

Ingredients

Quorn Mince 500g £1.39

Tomato and Basil Passata £0.45

Spaghetti £0.20

Instructions

Heat up your passata on the hob on a medium heat until it starts to bubble. Add in your Quorn mince, stir into the passata and cover for 10 minutes.

In a separate pan pour boiling water then add in your spaghetti and a pinch of salt. Cook the spaghetti for 9-11 minutes until its soft. Drain the spaghetti when cooked and add into the mince sauce and mix well. Serve and Enjoy.
