The Arc – Headingley
The Arc in Headingley has been one of the biggest student bars in the area since 2000, that’s 18 years of providing cheap drinks and good food for students in that area. As well as having a vast range on their menu, they also do weekly deals like; the most popular half price food running Tuesdays and after 6pm Sundays. So whether you’re craving a quick, accommodating breakfast, a light snack for lunch or a big meal to keep you full, their menu truly provides everything. From 7 different breakfast options (including pancakes!), a large choice of homemade pizzas, wraps, sandwiches and salads. The most popular options are the house burgers, nachos with various toppings the “Arc chicken and chips” for when you want to keep it simple, and the loaded fries, which can be served with house spices, bacon and cheese, chilli cheese or chicken.
Trinity Kitchen – Leeds Trinity Centre
Leeds Trinity Kitchen opened in 2013 to provide a street food experience, whilst staying inside. With over 14 different venues inside, there is plenty of choice for whatever food you may fancy, all cooked to order while you wait and watch. From hotdogs, steak sandwiches, burgers, pizzas, milkshakes, burritos, fish and chips as well as Chinese and Indian food; Trinity kitchens accommodate to anything anyone could ever want. Although not always student friendly, most vendors accept student discount and charge less than a regular restaurant.
The Skyrack – Headingley
Skyrack is one of the most well-known pubs in Headingley, renowned for being included on the Otley Run. However, most people are unaware they also serve food from 11am through till 9pm, with a cheap menu which has significant variety. Skyrack is also owned by the Greeneking chain, who run all the Wetherspoons, hungry horses and other small pubs across the country; the menu is like Wetherspoons.
Leeds Red Hot – City Centre
Red Hot is a well known restaurant in Leeds that has a pan-global buffet. Almost like Trinity Kitchen but all in one room, one plate for £10 allows you to go up to the buffet as many times as you want and even take food away with you, perfect for students. From any cuisine you could wish for from any continent, this place is the perfect for fussy eaters who struggle to find a meal on the menu. The buffet style also allows customers to take as much or as little of something as they want, making it perfect for those who want to try new foods or aren’t sure if they’ll like something.
